Former YOTV child star Khanya Mkangisa joins ‘Muvhango’

Sultry actress Khanya Mkangisa has joined SABC 2’s most-watched television show, Muvhango.

A thrilled Eastern Cape-born actress shared the news on her Instagram account with a picture of herself on set holding a picture of her new character’s name, Mbali.  

“There’s a new girl on the block, goes by the name Mbali and I’m told she’s making her debut on Muvhango tonight. Sassy, street, boujie, smart & Instagram-obsessed. I’m obviously in my element portraying her,” she wrote. 

The 31-year-old, who holds a BA degree in motion picture and television from AFDA, started her TV career as a YOTV presenter at the tender age of 14. 

She took up acting outside of her YOTV presenter job while doing grade 11.

She has acted in many shows including SABC1 drama series IntersexionsYizo Yizo, The Lab,, Zabalaza and Isidingo.

Mkhangisa, also played Akhona Jola on Mzansi Magic’s The Queen.

The multi-talented Mkhangisa has also hosted Selimathunziin the past.

Despite her glittering career, Mkhangisa has attracted a lot of bad publicity, including drunken driving and rumours of dating a guy 10 years younger than her.
