Johannesburg-based Afrobeat singer-songwriter, Samwel Prosper Moshi aka Sam P, is back and rocketing forward with his first release of the year, Only You. Working with some of the best producers in Johannesburg, Sam P took his genuine lyrics and sparkling melodies and crafted them into a whole new song with fresh influences.
During the national lockdown period, he spent much of his time revamping his sound. He said, “I have been working on my craft these past few months, and I’ve come to appreciate the complex styles that I can offer music lovers out there. Only You is a love song that portrays my deep expression and appreciation of relationships and life, trusting my heart and continued hopeful spirit of love.”
“Through the song, I want to remind people of the real hope we can hold on to, as we confront the enemy, coronavirus, on a day to day basis. We will be able to stand above difficult situations with the gift of love and compassion,” he said.
Sam P is an avid musician who plays and writes with passion from his own experiences and ideas. Aiming to widen his horizons and find more opportunities to grow his music, Sam P has joined the newly launched Johannesburg based record label Zonk Music.
He also adds “I love knowing that people are connecting with my songs’ lyrics and music and I think they like knowing that there is someone else out there who has feelings for whatever they are going through. I am getting to see that through how fans are receiving my single.”
The talented and passionate Tanzanian born singer-songwriter started performing at the young age of 13, thrilled to be singing along some of the best music to come of Africa.
