Orange Democratic Movement Lawmakers Dares Kenya’s Deputy President To Resign From His Position

Orange Democratic Movement, the party of former Prime Minister Rt. Honourable Raila Odinga, on Tuesday, came out gun blazing at the Deputy President for failing to tame his brigade from attacking the President, Uhuru Kenyatta.

While addressing the media at Capitol Hill Square in Nairobi, the National Assembly Minority Whip Junet Mohamed asked the Deputy President William Ruto to stop accusing the government that he is part of.

Junet added that if the Deputy President was tired of the government and he feels that he is ready to become the President, he should resign from his position and contest for the position just like the rest of Kenyans.

“Kwa Naibu Rais William Ruto, Asimamishe hiyo tabia chafu ambayo ameanza ya kutusi serikali ambayo yeye ni Naibu Rais. Kama ametosheka na serikali na amefika kiwango ya kuwa Rais wa Kenya atoke nje, apambane nje kama sisi.”

The lawmaker faulted the Deputy President for dishonesty and being old school alleging that the DP sends his allies to abuse the President and his family for him to come out and condemn the incident.

“It is dishonest and old school for Ruto to be sending people to abuse other leaders then pretend to be telling them to stop, you can abuse other leaders to gain power including mothers of this country, you have no business abusing Mama Ngina, abusing her is abusing all mothers of this country,” Junet said.

Junet said on many occasions Ruto has bragged about how he made ODM leader the Prime Minister and Uhuru Kenyatta the President.

“If that is the case, we are waiting for him to make himself President. Because he cannot be abusing and going against the government that he is the Deputy President,” Junet said.

Junet’s sentiments were echoed by many leaders across the country who accused the DP allies from insulting the First Family especially Mama Ngina, who is President Uhuru’s mother.
