Third Way Alliance Kenya has named Exiled Miguna Miguna as its candidate for the up-coming Nairobi Gubernatorial race.
In a statement signed by the Party Chairman Miruri Waweru, on December 28, 2020, Dr Miguna Miguna is the best way to reclaim the glory and sanity of the Nairobi city.
“It is a great honour for Thirdway Alliance Kenya to unveil Dr Miguna Miguna as its candidate for this by-election. Thirdway Alliance and Miguna share a common belief that Nairobi and indeed the Republic of Kenya can no longer be entrusted in the hands of corrosive cartels and criminal enterprise. It is time to drain the swamp of bad leadership and dismantle this rogue cartel haemorrhaging Nairobi,” read the statement in part.
Earlier, Miguna Miguna got deported to Canada and his Passport seized. Mr Marwa said that the lawyer could still use his Canadian Passport to gain entry into Kenya or seek renewal of his passport locally at any Kenyan Embassy abroad.
While the election is scheduled for February 18, following the impeachment of the former governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko, Miguna’s candidature face uncertainties whether the electoral body, Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC), will clear him to contest because of his controversial citizenship.
This is the second time the lawyer will run for the County Boss position after running as an independent candidate in an election he lost in 2017.
