KWARA, Nigeria — Police in Nigeria’s Kwara state have arrested a 24-year-old man after he was found carrying a bag containing a freshly severed human head and hand.
The man, identified as Kehinde Moses was arrested at Ajase-Ipo road during a stop and search duty.
Commissioner of Police in Kwara, Mohammed Bagega said that the suspect was arrested in a commercial bus by a team of ‘Operation Harmony’. He added that as they were searching the bag, one man run away.
Bagega said a freshly severed head and hand of a boy were found in the bag during the search.
Moses confessed to have killed the victim identified as Mohammed. He, together with his partner who fled, killed Mohammed in Ajase Ipo for ritual purposes.
The suspect took investigators to where the body was dumped for purposes of recovery.
The commissioner has ordered the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to thoroughly investigate the case and arrest anyone connected to the heinous crime.
He also said the suspects will be charged to court once investigation process is concluded.
