NIGERIA — Just hours after play store deleted his app, former presidential aspirant Adamu Garba has lost his account after Instagram deleted it following reports from some users.
“My account was reported by some users and disabled by instagram.” Said Garba
Two days ago, his microblogging platform dubbed Crowwe was deleted from Google Play Store. Some users insinuate that the app was taken down following bad reviews while others have blamed it on plagiarism.
“Google removes from the Play Store, applications that are perceived to have violated its policy.
“Once your app is removed, the published version of your app won’t be available on Google Play until a compliant update is submitted,” says Google policy report
The former politician has however rubbished the rumours saying he ordered Google to take down the app since it need an update.
Garba who is a staunch supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari has been on the receiving end for supporting Buhari’s move to ban twitter in Nigeria.
A week ago, Buhari banned twitter in the country after the social networking platform deleted one of his posts which seemed to be a threat to those vandalizing Nigeria’s electoral body offices.
In a move to show his support, Garba has since been inactive on twitter following the president’s ban.
Reason for deleting Garba’s account is not yet clear. However, Instagram bans accounts that violate its policy or those that report spam or fraud as well as fake accounts.
