NAIROBI, Kenya — Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) has announced that it will shut down water supply in some parts of Nairobi.
NCWSC said it will implement the move in areas along Mombasa Road for 24 hours starting from 6:00 am Thursday June to 6:00 am Friday June.
The water company added that the disruption is to facilitate the interconnection of the new and old water pipelines on the Uhuru Highway between Museum Hill and the KBC area.
Areas which will be affected include: the whole of city centre, areas along Mombasa road, South Band South C and the neighbourhoods.
University of Nairobi main campus, Coca Cola Factory, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, EPZ-Athi River.
Areas along Jogoo road: City Stadium, Maringo, Bahati, Buruburu and the surrounding estates.
The whole of Industrial area will also be affected.
The construction of the Nairobi Expressway is one of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s infrastructural developments in his agenda.
the Expressway is a planned toll road in Kenya connecting Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to the neighborhood of Rironi, in Kiambu County along the Nairobi-Limuru Road.
The government hopes to complete the project buy end of 2021.
