NIGERIA — Family sources have revealed that the late TB Joshua will be burried on July 9 at his church in Ikotun, Lagos state.
Initially, the deceased who passed on in July 5 was set to be burried at his home in Arigifdi-Akoko, Ondo state according to reports.
However, it is reported that the pastor’s family and church elders intervened and decided the pastor will be buried in Lagos.
“Since they said the reason was spiritual, the family agreed with them,” a church source said
The sources have also indicated that Joshua’s wife Evelyn will take over his church.
SCOAN elders have also met and selected Evelyn as TB Joshua’s successor as there was no succession plan for the church.
“Someone must take charge immediately and give spiritual direction on the mode of service continuity. So much spiritual and financial efforts went into building SCOAN and it cannot just waste away,’’ a top aide said.
“None of the pastors were trained to succeed him. I would have known if any exists. For now, the wife has taken charge.’’ he added
TB Joshua was the founder of the Synagogue Church OF All Nations (SCOAN). SCOAN is a Christian megachurch runs the Emmanuel television station from Lagos.
With a presence in Africa and Latin America, Joshua had amassed a huge following on social media. His Facebook page had over six million fans while his YouTube channel was the most viewed Christian ministry on the platform with over one million subscribers.
Before his death, Joshua’s YouTube channel was suspended after he was accused of giving a homophobic speech.
