Egypt—The CAF Champions League final between Al Ahly and Kaizer Chiefs is scheduled to take place today, 17 July at the Mohamed V Stadium in Morocco. Al Ahly is entering into the pitch as titleholders and as favorites after displaying exceptional results both in their African and International shows.
During the prematch conference, Mohamed El Sayed Al Ahly professional goalkeeper who plays in Egypt’s national team spoke about the stadium advantage and the role of older players during big games.
“It will be a very difficult game. Kaizer Chiefs will have the advantage because they played at the stadium during the semifinals against Wydad Casablanca. Playing at an Arab country is a good thing for sure, but it won’t put us in a better position since there will be no fans at the stadium.” He said
Adding, “We will do everything we can to win the title and make our fans proud. Al Ahly always plays for winning. The older players always stress that point and teach it to our young players. When we went to the FIFA Club World Cup, we promised ourselves that we will be back soon. Older players presence such as Walid Soliman, Saad Samir, and Amr El-Sulya help me a lot and with them, present am not worried as much because the squad matrix will work out and delivery will surely be the goal.” Al Ahly goalkeeper said.
“We all carry the responsibility of helping the team win every tournament we enter and our players understand and practice that.” He added
Football fans across the African continent and the world will be spectating the match, which will be aired live on SuperSport. With Kaizer Chiefs expecting also to bag the championship cup though stepping for the first time into the CAF.
