Ghana—Dennis Nana Dwamena, better known as KiDi, a Ghanaian high-life and afrobeats singer-songwriter and producer signed under Lynx Entertainment was hoping to win artiste of the year at the 2021 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
“I was hoping to win, this world if you are expecting to win something you may end up in disappointment so I was only hoping, all you have to do is to pray and hope for the best.
“Sometimes it comes your way but other times things might go down South. I hold the view that you need not all your goodies in one basket.” He spoke.
According to him he was disappointed with the outcome but whoever won that category has equally worked and deserved the award.
“Oh yeah of course am human if you anticipate to win and you don’t get it of course you are not a robot you will be pained but at the end of the day you will realize whoever won it also worked hard and equally deserves it.
“It is not a game of numbers only as many would have thought. No. There is more than meets the eye in these competitions, maybe discipline in the music industry, maybe how often your projects are out and so many more so we must as normal feel the pinch of losing but again appreciate those who manage to bag home the awards.
“We have young artists who were present in the event am sure they must have learnt a lot concerning music awards not in Ghana but internationally too, so that when there moment is ready, they win and celebrate, they lose and appreciate.” Spoke KiDi.
Diana Hamilton a gospel musician won the artiste of the year at the 2021 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Other competitors were Adina, Sarkodie, Medikal and Kuami Eugine.
