MasterChef South Africa cooking game show set to return on M-Net in 2022

South Africa—MasterChef South Africa, a South African version of the television cooking game show franchise MasterChef. The show will be making a comeback to M-Net (DSTV 101) for its fourth season in February 2022.

It is filmed on the Nederburg Wine Estate in Paarl, Western Cape, and judged by Pete Goffe-Wood, Benny Masekwameng, and Reuben Riffel, as of season 3.

The show was canceled in 2016 after three seasons and a Masterchef SA celebrity version. The erstwhile winners included Deena Naidoo, Kamini Pather, Roxi Wardman, and Chris Forrest who won the celebrity version.

Currently, the show is looking for 20 motivated culinary hopefuls, to participate in the highly contested global phenomenon that is Masterchef SA with a chance to win a whopping R1 million.

“Within the current landscape of the Covid-19 virus, we wanted to give our audience something familiar and comforting and felt like home. MasterChef SA was the perfect choice as both the local and international versions have proven that the format is a firm favorite with viewers, it’s heart-warming and welcoming content.

“We call upon all global citizens to participate or contribute in any possible way. All that feel they have the zeal and capacity to take part in this extravaganza competition should make haste as registration is already around the corner.

Those enthusiastic about food and cooking, have been asked to go enter the MasterChef SA M-Net website and complete a short form.

To participate in the show, according to the organizers, one should be over 18 years and be a South African citizen or have permanent residence in South Africa. Entries are slated to close in September 2021.

The show will be airing from Monday to Thursday from February 2022 at 18:00 hrs., with the filming starting soon as possible.
