Black Sherif emerges top streamed artist in Ghana on YouTube in August

Ghana—Breakout Ghanaian rapper, Mohammed Ismail Sherif, known by his stage name Black Sherif has emerged as the most-streamed musician on YouTube GH in August 2021.

Black Sherif who has been making waves for weeks with his recently released official video for “Second sermon,” has been able to garner over 2.3 million streams on his YouTube channel in August alone according to statistics from Chart’s Ghana twitter page.

Out of the 10 artists who appeared on the list, Ghana’s songstress Mona4Reall who is currently trending for her new latest music video, “Baby” featuring Shatta Wale came in number two with 1.14 M views.

In number three was Sarkodie with 1.05M views with his “No pressure” album, and number four was Shatta with1.04 million views.

Number 7 and 8 are Yaw Tog and the 2021 Vodafone Ghana music awards “Artiste of the year” award winner Diana Hamilton who appeared with 439k views and 434k views respectively.

The remaining artists on the list included Omah Lay at number 5 with 489k views, Wizkid at number 6 with 460k views, Guchi at number 9 with 432k views, and closing the list was Mercy Chinwo with 425k views.

This is a great win for Black Sherif, considering that his latest song has a ripple effect on his old songs, and his influence may have an impact on his next project.

According to the nineteen-year-old, he has another episode of his “sermons” and it will soon be released. The feat achieved by Black Sherif’s song has generated a buzz among his fans.

Other songs released by Sherif include First sermon, Destiny, and Ankonam. His first song, Money which was released over a year ago has clocked two million streams on Boomplay.
