Nairobi, Kenya— University of Nairobi Law student Stacy Chumba was crowned Miss Earth Kenya 2021 over the weekend.

She was one of the 14 stunning divas who were competing for the national title that would see the winner represent Kenya at Miss Earth 2021.

The beauty pageant is organized yearly to encourage Environmental Conservation, Culture, Tourism, and Benevolence.

The 21-year-old Stacy is a third-year student specializing in Environmental law and is passionate about environmental conservation.

While issuing her speech, after being announced the winner, she said it was a great opportunity that will make her follow the footsteps of environmentalists like the late Wangari Maathai.

“The biggest thing I’m going to do is to make people care about throwing plastics, planting a tree. My advocacy is bringing back the glory to the valley.”

The excited beauty queen also took to her social media to express appreciation for the strong forces behind her win.

“I don’t think words can express my gratitude to the Lord Almighty and every single person, who supported me. Thank you all.” Stacy wrote on her Instagram page.

She went on in a separate post, “I also want to thank this beautiful woman for holding my hand and believing in me. I hope I live upto to your expectations mum.”

The newly crowned Stacy Chumba will be representing the country at the 21st Miss Pageant slated for November 2021.
